BRAIN HARVEST (11)

Fly On The Wall

(same night)

Int: Tyrone's Apartment-11 p.m.

While Tyrone starts extraction process on the two new aviator contributors, Brian is drawn to the video monitor which looks through the recessed camera mounted on his front door.

He sees strange movement around his Jeep.
He cracks door seeing two guys with flashlights, taking notes, he closes door.

Brian

"Hey Sydney...come take a look at this!"

Sydney taking a look at monitor

"Looks like dudes scoping out your Jeep, maybe wanna steal it, who knows?"

Brian

"No, they got flashlights, writing stuff in notepads...I'm thinking the cops, maybe they're onto us?"

Sydney looking out cracked door

"Yea, they do look kind of official, what do you wanna do?"

Brian

Wait till they leave, if they leave, for all I know they might be waiting to talk to us...maybe I can stash the Jeep in long term over at Tulane...then rent a car from, I dunno...rent a wreck?"

Sydney

"Good idea, but if they trace that tag back to your address, it's only a matter of time, they're going to find out it was a blue Jeep registered on that tag, or did you even think of that?"

Brian

"Once again, caught not thinking...I think I must be getting those Prions in my brain...but I was acting on a hunch when I had it painted, a feeling that things were catching up to us!"

Sydney

"Maybe we need to ditch this shit for a while?

Tyrone walking in

"Hey man, just wanted to explain about them checks, one was for the two of you, the other for me, and another one was for my agent, my promoter dude who make's all this possible, he put all this together, money came from the guys over at Touro...couldn't figure out how to split it man...had to give the man his cut...no if's or but's you hear!

Brian

Looks like I'm going to have to ditch the Jeep for a while, people be snooping around outside...I just know somebody said something!"

Tyrone

"Said something...what the whole project is under the table, this is not a repeat follow up, this is a first time business here in New Orleans...at least on this scale...this is all suspicion on something that someone said that can't even remember where it originated, shit, they ain't got no tag on us..."

Brian

"Maybe not now, not yet...but they're not snooping around out there for nothing, I've got to be proactive and just do what I gotta do..."

Tyrone

"What the fuck can you do, they gonna trace that truck back to your apartment, can't just be trading the Jeep in...they already got my tags on my mini van out there, but they already know I'm living here, they nothing...nothing on any of us at this point?"

Brian

"Like I said, not at this point anyway, but I've got an idea..."

Brian and Sydney exiting Jeep

Sydney

"You sure about this?"

Brian

"Yea it's the perfect way to just get this done, out of sight...out of mind, it's insured...what the fuck!"

Sydney

"It's going to be pure hell for anybody that wants to play this game."

Brian

"Well, that's their choice, they dig their own grave with this...all I know is that the trap is set, I'm done here!"

Brian and Sydney leave the Jeep, parked unattended on the curb of the street...keys in the ignition.

Brian

"Who knows, maybe Tyrone can part out whoever gets busted driving like a lunatic in this thing?"

Sydney

"That's so twisted man..."

Brian and Sydney take the streetcar back to the apartment.

Brian to Sydney

"Was it really necessary to do this Bio-med as an elective?"

Sydney to Brian

"Well, I figured if we didn't have what it takes to become doctors, we could at least fix them...hey, wonder if anybody is joy riding in the Jeep yet?"

Professor Harper

"...this activity is called the Alpha Rhythum and ranges from 8 to 12 hertz...it is interesting to note..."

Dispatch

"10-4 330, what was the tag on that vehicle 10-4?"

Officer #1

"Yes, had to go look at it...looks like 378-3312 Louisiana, 'em make note that it must have been recently painted as some red has peeled off exposing a blue primer, and there also appears to be a key in the ignition too, 10-4?

(2 Hours Later

(Scene Switch)

Ext. Brian's Apartment-4 p.m.

New Orleans Detectives pay Brian a visit.
Knocking on door

Sydney Answers

"Yea, may I help you?"

Agent Davis

"Yes, I'm Agent Davis and this is Lieutenant Herbert, we were looking for a Brian Epstein...we'd like to talk with him?"

Brian comes walking up the street with bag of groceries, see's agents at door.
Sydney see's Brian and tries running his hand through his hair to alert Brian.

Brian turns around and attempts to walk away, but drops a jar of peanut butter.
Agents see that he matches picture and accost him on the side walk.

Lieutenant Herbert

"Brian Epstein I presume, we are with New Orleans  Police, I'm Lieutenant Herbert and this is Agent Epstein, we wanted to ask you a few questions?"

Brian picking up broken peanut butter jar

"What is this about?"

Herbert

"A truck a red jeep that's listed as a blue jeep...that's in your name attached to this address, with a key in the ignition, and we have no stolen vehicle report showing...mind to explain what's going on sir?"

Brian

"Well, I didn't know it was stolen, some punks wrote curse words all over it, I had left the key with the paint man, but who knows if someone made a copy...I dunno...nothings going on!"

Agent Davis

"You sure that's all there is to the story?"

Brian

"Story, what story...I don't even know what this is about...by the way who took my Jeep anyway?

Davis

"Well, they haven't been identified yet, but it appears to be two African-American juveniles...looks like ninth ward, the projects maybe...too soon for that..."

Herbert

"Your truck was seen by some apartments that we've been investigating...know anything about that?"

Brian

"Look my roommate and myself are taking Neurology courses over at Tulane Medical School, we really don't have time to be whatever you thought we were doing...and unless you have some other angle on this, I've got some studying to do...is that okay with you?"

Davis

"Well, just in case you think of something, something mysteriously pops into your head at the last moment, then here's a card you can call...okay?"

Brian

"No problem sir, home you find whatever your looking for, afternoon..."

Both Agents

"Afternoon!"

Agents walking away

Davis

"Caught him a little off guard there?"

Herbert

"How you mean?"

Davis

"Well, the schedule is pretty much morning for those students, they're not working...at least not above the table...either he ditched the truck for the insurance or just to ditch the evidence of which we don't even know of at this point...we never really accused him of doing anything per say...the frustrating thing is we only have one witness to a crime which for all intents and purposes may or my not have ever occurred, that's the frustrating part of all this!"

Herbert

"So, what's are next move?"

Agent

"Back to the surveillance for another week...if it doesn't turn up anything then we just scrap the file...these are the kind of cases that make you old...older faster, and quicker than you should be...time for a little vacation time anyway!"

(Scene Switch)

Brian goes into house running to Sydney

"Man does that suck, those dudes have all the information, a pretty good idea on motive, and absolutely nothing to pin me on...so I think?"

Sydney

"Well, good for you...I'm sure that was the first round...they'll be back...we have a drop off and a pick up tonight and nothing to tow them in...got any ideas?"

Brian

"Borrow Tyrone's van tonight, assuming he'll let me, then maybe doing a little car shopping?"

Sydney

"Well, I'd like to be a fly on the wall to find out what the cops got on all this, should we tell Tyrone?

Brian

"Well, he know the dangers, the obstacles...but he just blows them off like a mosquito bite...he's been doing this so long, everything is second nature with him."

Sydney

"Well, I think after tonight, we need to give Tyrone his van back and just split...it's getting way to hot in the kitchen and personally...I want out...you with me or not?"

Brian

"Your right with the thinking, I agree with you...but one thing really bugs me about this?"

Sydney

"But what?"

Brian

"Will Tyrone go along with us walking...the dudes crazy...he might his own ideas on what to do with us?"

Sydney

"Call the police!"

Brian

"Your a real bag of laughs you know that, now shut-up...I've got to think!

Sydney

"Oh, here's a rare moment...this ought to be good..."
